Our Apprenticeship Programmes:

ERS Medical Apprenticeships

Apprentices working for ERS Medical are on either a one or two years fixed term contract. They are paid a salary and given a structured development programme which is role specific and bespoke to each individual, which means that Apprentices can study at their own pace to suit individuals learning levels. We work with registered training providers who provide support to apprentices to help them gain nationally recognised qualifications.

Operational One/Two year Apprenticeship Programme salary:

Admin and Office Based One/Two year Apprentice Programme salary:

Contact Centre Team (CCT) Apprenticeships

We introduced Apprentices into our Contact Centre Team (CCT) as a pilot in the autumn of 2013. This Apprenticeship lasts for one year and covers a wide range of call centre tasks including general administration, screening patients for eligibility to travel through to dispatching vehicles and monitoring operational performance. Some of the other areas covered in training include:

• Non – emergency patient bookings and eligibility screening.
• Mental health bookings
• Information governance training
• Dementia awareness training
• Managing conflict
• Adult safeguarding and child protection training
• Dispatch training
• Learning difficulties awareness
• Mental health awareness
• Awareness of the extended the Group Company responsibilities, including Healthcare IT, medical waste management and product recall
• Working/visits to operational sites
• Observing with operational crews

Operational Apprenticeships

The Operational Apprenticeship is based on the Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) training programme and lasts for two years. The key training features include a three week induction training programme at the start of your contract comprising of:
• IHCD Ambulance Care Assistant training program
• IHCD/Edexcel ambulance driver training D1 (1 week) professional driving programme starting with the First Person on Scene basic programme.
• Information governance training
• Dementia awareness training
• Learning difficulties awareness
• Mental health awareness
• Adult safeguarding and child protection training tuition

The induction training programme is managed by
• Experienced instructors with current teaching qualifications using up to date equipment
• ADI driving instructors using dedicated vehicles
• Confirmation drives with independent examiners
