NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin mobilised the Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPTS) contract with EMED during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mobilising a contract of this scale during such a difficult period was challenging however EMED’s approach to the mobilisation meant obstacles were overcome and the service was introduced on time. In a short mobilisation period EMED managed to introduce estate, vehicles and meet TUPE requirements all of which were completed. This translated into a seamless transition for patients accessing the service.
