ERS Medical awarded patient transport contract in Staffordshire
ERS Medical has been awarded a five-year contract to provide Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
Following a rigorous procurement process, the six Clinical Commissioning Groups have awarded the five-year contract to ERS Medical with the opportunity to extend for a further two years. Bids were evaluated against a variety of criteria, including quality of service and value for money.
The contract starts on 1st August 2021 and will see ERS Medical conducting over 187,000 patient journeys per year. The Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) is non-urgent pre-booked transport to and from NHS funded points of care (excluding GP appointments) for patients, who are too ill or otherwise physically unable to make the journey themselves.
The service has been procured for patients within the Stafford and Surrounds CCG, Cannock Chase CCG, East Staffordshire CCG, South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsular CCG, North Staffordshire CCG and Stoke on Trent CCG.
Marcus Warnes, Accountable Officer for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent CCGs said: “We look forward to working with ERS Medical who have an established track record as a NEPT provider. Together we are committed to providing a high quality service for our residents.”
Andrew Pooley, Managing Director, ERS Medical says: “We are delighted to have been awarded the contract to provide Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services across Staffordshire CCGs. ERS Medical is passionate about providing the best possible patient care and we look forward to working with the team across Staffordshire to deliver an innovative, first rate service to patients.”
