Ride London Challenge
ERS Medical Managing Director, Andrew Pooley, recently completed Ride London. A mammoth challenge that saw Andrew, and 25,000 other cyclists, ride 100 miles around Surrey and London to raise money for charity.
Andrew said: “A big thank you to everyone who has helped to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society! It was a great event and we have managed to raise over £1,000 for a very important cause.
“The ride was fast from the start with my wave going all out through the closed streets of London. The start was more like a race than sportive, with jostling for position and accelerating hard out of corners. It was a lot of fun but I was close to my max heart rate so I knew it wouldn’t last, and when the reality of very little training caught up with me, I eased off and tried to pace myself to the finish. Leith and Box hill came and went and we headed back to London through the sunny and warm Surrey downs. I jumped onto different groups as they sped past and enjoyed the benefit of their slipstream back to the finish.
“A really well organised event that I would highly recommend to anyone. Again , thank you for the donations, there is still time to donate here – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/andrew-pooley3 ”
Well done Andrew!
